Just after noon on Saturday at BoardUp Miami, Tiffany, Material Girl, Dynasty, and Two of Hearts were just a few on the names to grace the festival’s stage.  No, it wasn’t a rad chick cover band recalling the days of Blondie and The Bangles.  The decades-old monikers classified the Electric Couture collection of 80’s-inspired swim suits from NYC-based swimwear company, House of Jackie Brown.

Brown, clad in a white ribbed tank tucked into Fendi denim shorts, and York, donning a navy maxi dress, arrived to check out the fashion scene (and beach boys) at BoardUp Miami Friday afternoon.  The following morning, the duo were up at 7:00AM scurrying to get their seven models to hair, makeup, and swimsuit fittings in time for the 12:20PM fashion show at BoardUp.

Though mostly skimpy bandeau and bikini pieces graced the stage on Saturday afternoon, House of Jackie Brown will also debut more one-pieces next year to expand their clientele.  “We’re able to cater to people who aren’t just in the fashion industry,” Brown explained. “We don’t want to be just on the fashion girls.  We want to be on the sporty girls too.”  And when wearing House of Jackie Brown, no one’s to say you can’t be both.
