Day Two of ROTHBURY
The second day of ROTHBURY was all about the music. Damian Marley and NAS, Broken Social Scene, Brett Dennen, Flogging Molly, The String Cheese Incident and STS9 were all there to please the music-hungry masses. But there's a lot more to a festival than the music. Theres camping, food, and at ROTHBURY, hoolahooping, hammock lounging, and a whole lotta love.
First, the campers woke hungry and excited for the day ahead. Some went to the morning guided yoga practice, while others stayed close to camp, cooking up breakfast and shaking the night out of their clothes and hair.
Rum Bum's own Tracy Block explains that so many people made so many new friends on Thursday that the vibe on Friday was one of comradely, and even, family.
Tracy reported back that the standout performance of the day belonged to The String Cheese Incident, which, if you watched it here, you could see why. The bad was tight and just plain jammeriffic. Rum Bum's Tamaryn Tobian gave it up for Damian Marley and NAS, saying that the combination or Reggae and hip hop went together like sweet and tea.
Later, there was eating - lots of eating - of great, portable festival food, and then lounging on hammocks in the Sherwood Forest.
Late night DJ sets by Chromeo and Glitch Mob got tired feet dancing, and everyone went home, and back to camp, happy - despite the disappointment of the Sherwood Forest being closed for the night. No late night frolicking in the forest! Perhaps that was for the best...
