Catching Up with G. Love
If you've seen him perform live, you know that G. Love is fun, energetic, and laid back - all at the same time. Oh, and his music is good too (if not just a bit difficult to pin down). He raps and plays electric guitar at the same time. But not all the time. Other times he slows it down in the vein of Jack Johnson. And then, he's just plain funky, tapping his foot or wailing on his harmonica as the band behind rips a bluesy rhythm.
Like many artists who wouldn't dare pick a genre and stick to it, G. Love just loves music. He also loves touring. The band has been playing seemingly every venue it can get into for more than a decade. And they frequently appear on the festival circuit, which makes sense - the band's music is just the right blend of funk, fun and social consciousness, which makes it ideal for the sun and spirit of an outdoor fest.
Lucky for their fans, G. Love & Special Sauce is not set to slow down any time soon. You can catch them next at the Mile High Music Festival in Denver, Colorado, which will be streaming right here July 18 and 19.
