Rothbury Interview

Underground Orchestra Comes Up for Air

Underground Orchestra isn't sure what to call themselves. For now, they've settled on "Rock, funk fusion." It's an apt enough description for the band whose music sounds like a little bit of everything and also like nothing you've ever heard.

The band's "songs" are structured extended jams, rather than tightly packaged 3-minute pieces, broken up by a variety of percussion instruments and stellar guitar solos. Their melodies jam rather than drive. They're songs that invite the listener in and take them along for the cross-genre journey. Fans of progressive rock will like Underground Orchestra, fans of pop rock will most likely not.

However you roll, there is no denying the sheer talent of Underground Orchestra's 5 band members, or their well-deserved place on the ROTHBURY (or any) stage.
