Arj Barker makes 'em laugh by the thousands.

New Yorkers are often criticized for being moody or misanthropic, but if you look a little deeper, beyond the pessimism, eye rolls and snarls, you'll find a heck of a sense of humor. It's no wonder that All Points West Festival, taking place this weekend, July 31st through August 2nd at Jersey City's Liberty State Park, decided to throw in a comedy line-up in addition to the buffet of bands. Here's a preview:

Arj Barker Makes Fun of Just About Anything

Indian-American stand up comic, Arj Barker has a sarcastic and absurdest style reminiscent of Jerry Seinfeld. In one act he criticizes Google for being conceited and having a serious attitude problem; he bemoans that if you misspell something on a Google search, Google rolls its eyes at you and responds by saying, did you mean..." In another gag, Barker points his finger at cell-phone companies, claiming they get rich by making consumers stack up minutes while listening to redundant and irrelevant voice mail options before they actually get to leave a message.

Eugene Mirmam Is The Sexpert

Eugene Mirmam is a Russian born American comedian known for his ridiculous "Sexpert" sex advice videos. The Sexpert gives a plethora of nonsensical advice like, "women like danger so cover yourself in glass" and "if women could date a fire, they would." Eugene is also know for his observational comedy; in one act he says that when he heard Linen's and Things went out of business he though to himself, "should have been more specific..."

Youtube Boy Wonder, Bo Burnham Makes Teen Angst Funny

Bo Burnham, known for his famous "I'm Bo Yo" Youtube video, is an eighteen year-old comic musician. Bo dishes out politically incorrect, satirical pubescent musical comedies. In the song, "3.14 Apple Pi" he embodies a Massachusetts white-boy gangster, spewing out, "I've been doing drive-by's all of my life, except the bullets are newspapers and the car is my bike."

Judah Friedlander is the Champion Oddball

You've seen Judah Friedlander all over the place, including the TV show "30 Rock." He's the guy with the oversized glasses and greasy black hair half hidden underneath a trucker's cap. Judah's best-known shtick is "The World Champion" in which he makes outrageous claims to fame. In the goofy video skit "Judah Makes Lemonade," Judah prepares the world's best lemonade inside of a large garbage can filled with hose water and lemon juice- all stirred with a mop.

If It Comes Out of Jim Jefferies' Mouth it's Bound to be Dirty - and Hilarious

Jim Jefferies is an Australian stand up comedian known for his vulgarity and no holds barred humor.  Jefferies' offensive yet charming jokes often center on sex, women, nut jobs, religion, and bathroom stories. A clean joke to share is Jefferies' suspicion that the Swedes kill their ugly citizens at birth, explaining why all Swedish people are beautiful.

Lax Todd Barry Will Slowly Make You Laugh

Stand up comedian Todd Barry has a calm, low voiced persona on stage that makes you think he really needs a nap. Barry is known for his slice of life observational stories delivered with a lethargic, laugh-inducing demeanor. In one act he reads a disgruntled fan letter, making snide, dry remarks in response to the writer's attacks.

These funny boys will share the Queen of the Valley stage with College Humor, Christian Finnegan, Janeane Garofalo, and Tim & Eric at this year's All Points West Festival. If you're there, quit your dancing for just a few moments, head over to the Queen of the Valley, and laugh your rum bums off.
