Los Amigos Invisibles Get the Party Started
Listening to their music, you'd never know Los Amigos Invisibles formed in 1991. They sound so much like the very best in disco funk fusion that you'd think they formed more than a decade earlier. But it's the benefit of hindsight (and some very funky Latin underpinnings) that make Los Amigos Invisibles. Their music is relevant, dance-happy and funkadelic. Which is to say that if you want to dance - I mean, really dance - then there's no better band to listen to than Los Amigos Invisibles.
The last quarter century has taken the band from Carracus, Venezuela across the world and back again but their friendship, and their music, has just gotten stronger. They may have several Latin Grammys, and several gringo Grammy nominations under their belts, but Los Amigos Invisibles is not looking back. Their best work is still in front of them, and this year's album Commercial is proof.
Los Amigos Invisibles has a few hip-shaking shows left of their summer tour and will be finishing up in their adopted home of NYC this November. If you're in Miami, Atlanta, Houston, San Juan or Tlanepantla, México, you'll have a chance to see the band before they take some much needed time off.
