ACL Video Interview

Sara Watkins Goes Solo

When Danielle says Sara Watkins plays perfect rainy day music, she's not kidding. Watkins blends her perfect harmonies with the sweet sound of her violin, ukulele and guitar (though not all at the same time). The music calls you to dance with your head against your sweetheart's chest, or even solo; because when you listen to Watkins' music you know you're not alone.

But she is.

With the debut of her self-titled solo album, the Nickle Creek violinist proves that she can create enough sound, depth and energy keep an audience captivated all by herself. She'll prove it on stage during a string of shows where she'll open up for John Prine this fall. (John Prine!)

If you can't make it out to see her, do pick up her new release. It's just so good.
