Here We Go, Magic
Here We Go Magic just may be the best band that you don't know. The quartet from Brooklyn, NY makes funkadelic lounge music with a rich, textured, sound that seems to go with just about anything. Their style is reminiscent of the 70s, but their sound is completely updated thanks to the river of low-key beats that runs beneath their jangly guitar, simple percussion and polyphonic vocals.
At their worst (which ain't at all bad), the sound like a tripped out version of Simon and Garfunkel. At their best, they sound sublime. Listen to them when you're alone in your room, lying in bed, trying to get a little space in your life, or even, while you're working. The music provides the perfect ambient accompaniment to just about anything (and is interesting enough not to get monotonous).
The band has only been together for a short period of time, and in that time they've produced something that many bands can't even grasp – real life magic. Although we didn't get a chance to see them play, word on the street is that they're quite good live. So if you have a chance, see them, or at very lest pick up their self-titled release. You're happy little mind will thank you.
