Finally, and eco-friendly yacht!
Good news for green boaters! (We’re talking eco-friendly, not seasick.) The Independence Green Yachts company has just announced that it joined forces with HB Marine, a leading developer of hydrogen-based power for the boating world. Over the past three years, Independence Green has been the only company in the marine world dedicated to constructing a 100% green luxury vessel. The problem: The $2 million capital has not been available to construct the first and only green boat on our Earth’s blue waters. The solution: Partner with an established green marine institution to gain financial stability, momentum, and – finally – progress.
Since the innagural yacht has yet to be been constructed, Independence Green company owners, Bruce McVittie and John Mann, can’t show anything in Miami other than their concept material (see sneak peak above). Furthermore, thanks to the blizzards up north their press conference possy is stuck in the snow. Though they have a small booth, their big ideas carry and big news will certainly cause a buzz in the industry. Hopefully big changes will follow.
McVittie and Mann’s $2 million concept yacht plans to revolutionize the way marine vessels and marine life intermix. But just because it’s good for Mother Nature doesn’t mean you’ll skip out on luxury. This 60’ yacht has everything from three extravagant staterooms, dual navigation stations, upper and lower helm chairs, under counter refrigeration and freezer storage, and custom counter tops. With its hydrogen fuel cell (meaning zero emissions) and fully recyclable aluminum construction, you’ll know your (two million) dollars not only went to an indulgent yacht, but eco-friendly innovation as well. Plus, since it runs on water, all you hear are waves.
