Earlier this year, Music executive veteran Jimmy Swan officially joined the Rum Bum Records team to work with its acts signed to the label. Rum Bum Records is based in Miami, Florida and was created by entertainment visionary entrepreneur Luis Bacardi. The label currently has rock acts Saliva and Surrender The Fall signed to its roster. Surrender The Fall released its debut album “Burn In The Spotlight” on September 18th, 2012, while Saliva is currently putting the final touches on their debut album with Rum Bum Records currently titled “Rise Up” with the lead single of the same name to be released late spring.

Jimmy Swan has spent the last 20 years in the music industry on the management and record label side of the business. Jimmy started in 1994 when he was 18 years old as a concert promoter, band manager and booking agent.  By the time he was 20, Jimmy was promoting over 200 shows nationwide, booking for over 27 bands, and managed 7 bands while attending school at Dallas Baptist University. In 2007, he dedicated all efforts to running a record label and was responsible for the signing and marketing of The Dirty Heads, 12 Stones, Alien Ant Farm, Jovany Javier, Chris Medina and Jamiroquai under a record label distributed by Fontana / Universal.  The Dirty Heads song “ Lay Me Down,” holds the Billboard Record as the first indie label ever to get a #1 on the Billboard Rock charts and has the longest running single ever with 11 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Alternative Charts, all spearheaded by Jimmy’s efforts and team assembly.

Jimmy Swan will be involved in all aspects of Rum Bum Records from signing acts to International expansion, starting with the current roster of Saliva and Surrender The Fall. Jimmy is looking forward to working with Rum Bum Records as he is quoted below.

(New York, NY) – Multi-platinum rockers Saliva are set to release their first album for new label home Rum Bum Records; IN IT TO WIN IT is due out this summer in North America. The first single from the forthcoming album, the aggressively anthemic title track “In It To Win It” is now available on iTunes and can be purchased here.

IN IT TO WIN IT, Saliva’s eight full-length release, was produced by Bobby Huff (known for his songwriting work with Meat Loaf, Halestorm, Drowning Pool, Saliva, Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down and more) and executive produced by Rum Bum Records Owner Luis Bacardi and new Saliva lead singer Bobby Amaru.

Saliva is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996. Saliva self-released their self-titled debut album in August, 1997 after competing in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, where they advanced to the final round in New York City. The album sold 10,000 copies independently, prompting record labels to take notice. Saliva signed with Island Records and went on to release six more albums with the label including the double-platinum certified EVERY SIX SECONDS, the offering which also contained their Grammy-nominated single, “Your Disease.” Saliva has enjoyed widespread success at Rock radio with such hit singles as “Always,” which nabbed the #1 spot on the Modern Rock Chart and climbed to #51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Platinum recording artist Saliva, is currently in Nashville, TN recording their eighth record (1st with RumBum Records) with producer Bobby Huff, and executive producer Luis Bacardi with new lead singer Bobby Amaru.

Bobby Huff co-wrote Saliva’s last single “Badass” and has worked with artists such as Meat Loaf, Three Doors Down, Cavo, Cold, Drowning Pool and Shinedown.

“Everyone has been able to get all of their ideas out and its really given the record a new life sonically and dynamically. Saliva is reborn again.  This is just the beginning”, says new front man Bobby Amaru.

Surrender the Fall is kicking off the new year with a bang, following up on their best chart position to date.  In support of their new single “Some Kind of Perfect,” which currently ranks #40 on the Active Rock Charts, the band is hitting the road February 1, 2013 after filming a new music video for the single. STF will be joined on the road by Almost Kings, Within Reason, Eye Empire & Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.  To date, the tour has confirmed two main stage performances at Buzzfest Music Festival and Rockapalooza in Jackson, MI.  Additional tour dates will be announced over the course of the next month.  The band’s new single is also featured in the rock section of AllAccess this week.
